Anyone who knows
Emily Verrett has little trouble understanding that it is her character to get
involved in every aspect in her life. This includes her school studies as well.
Many students take advantage of their early university years as a time to enjoy
the air of freedom. However, motivated individuals like Emily Verrett vent
their feelings of freedom in more productive ways.
As an
undergraduate student at the University of Texas at Austin, Emily Verrett was
unafraid of signing up for internships. The biggest internship for Emily
Verrett was the spring 2003 semester she spent in Mrs. Bush’s office at the
White House. And while this was a notable university accomplishment for Emily
Verrett, it was not the extent of her university involvement.
More recently,
Emily Verrett decided it was in her best interest to pursue additional
education. In 2008, Emily Verrett began her coursework at Southern Methodist
University toward earning her MBA with a concentration in finance. Emily
Verrett successfully completed her Master of Business Administration degree in
2010 and was quick to put her degree to work.
However, even
while she was a graduate student, Emily Verrett was sure to remain active in
her university. Emily Verrett worked as a student leader for two clubs. She was
President of Women in Business and was Vice President of Alumni Relations for
the Consulting and Corporate Strategy Club. Emily Verrett worked
as a student leader for both clubs from 2009 to 2010, when she graduated from
the program.
Emily Verrett’s
willingness to jump into work that will help direct her career speaks to her
professionalism. Her work as president and vice president of two university
clubs also speak of her natural leadership abilities, which have subsequently
been recognized by her employers.
