Emily Verrett is
without a doubt a very successful young woman. She has held several remarkable
management positions before she was thirty. Emily Verrett will probably point
to her internship in Washington D.C. as the starting point of her career.
As an undergrad
student, Emily Verrett was accepted into
the Bill Archer Fellowship program where she spent a semester internship
working in Former First Lady Laura Bush’s office in the White House. She loved
Washington D.C. so much she decided to return to D.C. in 2004 where she began
work at Denny Miller Associates.
As a recent graduate of
the University of Texas at Austin, Emily Verrett’s initial position at the
lobbying firm was entry level position. Much of the work she did was small
tasks like answering phones, writing brief documents, and doing general
research. However, Emily Verrett’s exemplary leadership skills tenacious
motivation enabled her to quickly rise to the position of Operations and Events
Manager. In this position, Emily Verrett oversaw more than 20 political
fundraisers.
In 2006, Emily Verrett
decided to leave Washington D.C. and the political environment. She returned
home to Texas and she started work as a Project Manager and Events Manager for
Gerson Lehrman Group in Austin, Texas, one of the largest primary research firms
in the U.S. In her capacity as Project and event Manager, Emily Verrett was
responsible for overseeing more than 250 events annually. Emily Verrett was
proud of her position and held this position for three years until she decided
to pursue her MBA at the Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist
University.
In 2009, Emily Verrett
found work at AT&T. It is at AT&T where she continues to work today.
Emily Verrett once again holds a position managing a team. Together with her
current team of 18 sales professions, Emily Verrett is responsible for over
$1.8B in annual revenue.
