Summer MBA Internship and Emily Verrett

Emily Verrett knows as a student how useful internships can be. While work experience is always a benefit for anyone’s resume, having a student internship can be equally impressive especially if it is anything like the internships that Emily Verrett had while she was an undergrad.

As an undergrad attending the University of Texas at Austin, Emily Verrett secured a very successful and unique internship through the Bill Archer Fellowship. Through the program, Emily Verrett was able to spend the spring semester of 2003 working in the Former First Lady Laura Bush’s office at the White House. This was just one of the first successful internships that would shape the future of Emily Verrett.

Emily Verrett’s participation in internships didn’t stop when she graduated from the University of Texas. She decided to return to her university studies in 2008. Emily Verrett started work earning her Master of Business Administration degree with a focus in finance from Southern Methodist University. And just like her years as an undergrad, Emily Verrett ensured professional internships were a key element of her graduate experience.

Emily Verrett in 2009 completed a summer internship at AT&T. Emily Verrett’s internship was spent in their Leadership Development Program. This was a career making internship for Emily Verrett. She successfully completed her Master’s in Business Administration degree in 2010 and continued working for AT&T in their Leadership Development Program, the company’s flagship talent development program.

Today, Emily Verrett continues to grow and develop her professional career at AT&T. She now manages a team of 18 sales professionals supporting government and education customers.
